Reserve CollectionThe Reserve Collection, located behind the circulation counter, consists of textbooks, AV programs, photocopied articles or other materials designated by faculty for course assignments. Not all textbooks are placed on reserve. If a needed textbook is not on reserve, contact the instructor for more information. COS students may check out reserve material if they have a current COS library card. To get a library card, students should bring proof of enrollment. To obtain reserve material, make requests at the circulation counter. Be sure to present a current library card. Loan PeriodsReserve textbooks and other materials are circulated according to the wishes of the instructor. Library staff cannot make exceptions without the consent of the instructor. Typical loan periods are:
Two-day: Material is due promptly on the date that is stamped on the due date slip. Overdue Policy for Reserve MaterialsIt is the borrower's responsibility to be aware of the due date. Routine letters or telephone reminders will not be made. Fines are $1 per day, per item, up to a maximum of $5 per item. Holding an ItemStudents may put a hold on reserve material that has been checked out. The Library will hold the material for 24-hours after its return. If not picked up within 24 hours, held items will be returned to the reserve shelf. RenewalsRenewals are made at the circulation counter. Renewals cannot be made by telephone. If a hold is requested for another borrower, the reserve item cannot be renewed. Outside Book DropAll material checked out can be deposited after hours in the outside book drop.
