One could call Tokyo a synergistic city, with its highly variable parts making up a unique, modern city with remnants from the past tucked away here and there. Tokyo was our first stop on the NCTA 2003 Study Tour of Japan. In addition to exploring various parts of the city in small groups, we used Tokyo as a home base and traveled outside the city.
