This survey course introduces students to representative works of world literature and explores the enduring human values which unite the different literary traditions. Students will engage in comparative and interdisciplinary analysis as they consider the literary, cultural, and human significance of selected works of the Western and non-Western literary traditions. Upon completion, students should be able to interpret, analyze, and respond to the literary works in their historical, cultural, and comparative contexts.
