This is a survey course of the various types of power plants, duties and responsibilities of personnel, plant science principles and applications related to systems and equipment commonly found in power plant facilities. Major topics include power plants and personnel, energy and energy conversion, energy applications, basic thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, fuels and combustion theory, boiler water and steam cycle, and basic mechanical and electrical theory.
