Course Information
This course meets online beginning Monday, March 4, 2013, and ends on Friday, May 10, 2013.
This course includes information specific to the College of the Siskiyous and how to successfully navigate the college system. This is an introductory course containing information on college life, campus facilities, career and college programs, lab use, support services, student expectations, student activities, and more. Students will be required to analyze and evaluate the applicability of programs, services, and policies to their overall educational goals as well as their success at COS. This is highly recommended for all students who are enrolled at College of the Siskiyous for the first time.

Entering the online classroom:
- You can enter the ETUDES online class https://myetudes.org/ portal here. Please be sure to use either the latest version of Firefox or Internet Explorer.
- Your Etudes User ID will be:
- the first 2 letters of your first name +
- the first 2 letters of your last name +
- the last 5 digits of your Student ID Number
Please be sure to use lower case.
EXAMPLE: John Smith's Etudes User ID would be josm12345 (if his Student ID number was S00012345)
Your password will be:
- Month and Day of birth in the school records, represented by 2 characters each (mmdd)
- EXAMPLE: Birthday is April 11th, 1982 (04 / 11 / 82)
- Password = 0411
You can also find your Etudes login ID in Navigator. Go to the Home tab and it is the first link in the Etudes channel.
- If you experience any difficulties logging in, you can either call 530-938-5515 or e-mail etudes.help@siskiyous.edu
- You will not be able to access the online classroom unless you are officially registered, the semester has officially begun and the instructor has opened the class site.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Navigate the college system, by successfully completing the registration process and be able to convey the steps to others, apply for financial aid, and specific support services.
- Evaluate and tell others how the various academic, vocational, social, and support programs presented can assist them in their educational goals.
- State to others or be able to find the requirements for a certificate of completion of an Associate degree and/or transfer to a four-year college or university.
- Determine how the physical facilities can assist in meeting student's educational, social, and recreational needs.
