Description: A basic mathematics course designed to provide skill development in operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents, and signed numbers. Algebra concepts including solving linear equations, geometry topics, and measurement are also presented.

Required:  One meeting on Weed Campus to take the final exam. Proctoring at distant locations will not be available this semester. 

Required:  Hawkes Basic Math Software (works on PC OS only, no Macs).  Available at COS bookstore, or at www.hawkeslearning.com for about $65.

Required:  Internet access and ability to use email.

Required:  Students must score at least 80% on all exams and work to pass this course.

Recommended: Familiarity with Etudes.

Recommended: Students should plan to spend at least one hour per week in the COS Math Lab located in LRC on Weed Campus. They are normally open 9-3 M-Th and 9-noon F.
