This class introduces students to major Western philosophical issues and methodologies. It is a chronological presentation of archetypical philosophers' thought concerning knowledge, reality and values. Topics include the sources and limits of knowledge, the nature of reality and self, and examination of fundamental beliefs about ethics, religion, science, language, art, society, politics, and the meaning of life.
