ARCHES - Northern California REACH Summit - June 17-18, 2007 College of the Siskiyous is hosting a project entitled ARCHES - Alliance for Regional Collaboration to Heighten Educational Success. The "vision" of ARCHES is to serve as "a voluntary confederation of collaboratives whose sole purpose is to improve student success and close the achievement gap among groups of students. To be clear, the collaborative is a means to an end; the end, or goal, both individually and collectively of ARCHES and its members, is greater student academic achievement, opportunity, and equity in California." The key members of the regional Northern California ARCHES project includes eight community colleges: Butte College, Feather River College, Lake Tahoe Community College, Lassen College, Mendocino College, College of the Redwoods, Shasta College, and College of the Siskiyous; five universities: CSU-Chico, Humboldt State University, University of California-Davis, Southern Oregon University, and University of Nevada-Reno; and 12 county offices of education. The specific goal for the collaborative is: "Improving
the community college transfer rate to baccalaureate-granting institutions".
