It only takes $26 to be a member of the 26.2 Club COLLEGE OF THE SISKIYOUS 2007
Dear Siskiyous Eagles Baseball Fans: My name is Billy Hefflinger, and I am the head baseball coach at College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California. College coaches are always trying to find creative ways to raise money for the benefit of their student-athletes, and I am no exception. On September 22, 2007, College of the Siskiyous Athletic Department will hold its 2nd Annual Marathon Fundraiser, in which I will be running 26.2 miles. On Saturday, November 11, 2006, I ran the 1st Annual Marathon Fundraiser. It was a cold and snowy day with the temperature dipping below thirty degrees at times. Fortunately, I was able to finish the marathon in 3 hours, 15 minutes, and 28 seconds. I was very proud of my running time, especially with the grueling weather conditions. My assistant coach, Mr. Mike Kaczowka, supplied me with water and Gatorade, and Mr. Dave Fontius, the assistant volleyball coach, even ran five miles alongside me for encouragement. My coaching staff and I hold high expectations for each of our student-athletes. My sincere hope is that these fundraisers show our players how hard we, their coaches, are willing to work for them. By running these marathons each year, I have a chance to earn support from the community and contribute personally to the fundraiser's success. The Siskiyous Eagles Baseball Program sincerely asks each supporter to donate $26.00, which equals a dollar per mile. Be assured that every donor will help the baseball team in a variety of ways, from funding preseason games to purchasing team equipment. During our preseason schedule, we will be traveling to the San Francisco Bay area and Sacramento to compete against a number of highly competitive non-conference programs. These non-conference games will expose our players to both four-year college scouts and professional baseball scouts who are looking for potential prospects. Your donations can be sent to the following address. Please make checks payable to College of the Siskiyous Baseball and include which player you are supporting on the memo line. College of the Siskiyous On behalf of College of the Siskiyous, the student-athletes, and all the coaches, I thank you for your continued support. Sincerely,
Billy Hefflinger
