Dutton has taken over the Wide Receivers position here at College of the Siskiyous. During the off-season he is the starting QB for the Colorado Crush AFL team. Awards: ArenaBowl XVI MVP, 2002 CAREER NOTES Dutton, a classic dropback passer, with five seasons of experience with the Crush after becoming the franchise's first free-agent signing on 11/2/02 & Has started 61 of 64 regular season games in Crush history and owns all single-game, season and career franchise passing records & Has thrown for 19,324 career yards with 385 TD passes to only 66 interceptions & Spent 2000-02 with San Jose, leading the SaberCats to an ArenaBowl title in 2002, where he was named MVP of ArenaBowl XVI. AFL NOTES 2006 (w/ Colorado):Finished the regular season throwing for 4,421 yards on 390-of-614 passing with 95 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. 2005 (w/ Colorado): On the season threw for 4,143 yards on 367-of-586 passing (62.6%) with 89 touchdowns and only 14 interceptions. 2004 (w/ Colorado): Completed 342-of-536 passes (63.8%) for 4,195 yards, 76 touchdowns and just 8 interceptions. 2003 (w/ Colorado): Played in 15 games for the Crush in 2003, starting all but three & Completed 308-of-495 passes (62.5%) for 3,994 yards and a career-high 77 touchdowns with 19 interceptions. 2002 (w/San Jose): Led the San Jose SaberCats to the ArenaBowl title. Dutton saw action in 12 games, completing 34-of-58 passes (58.6%) for 391 yards, eight TDs and two interceptions. 2001 (w/San Jose): Started first eight games of season (5-3), completing 127-of-212 (59.9%) passes for 1,810 yards, 31 TDs NFL EXPERIENCE Originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 1998 NFL Draft & Waived during training camp by the Dolphins and signed by the Atlanta Falcons on 8/12/98 & Waived by Atlanta on 8/24/98 and signed with Cleveland Browns on 12/29/98 prior to their return to the league & Attended training camp with the Browns in 1999. COLLEGE Record-setting quarterback at the University of Nevada & Twice named Big West Conference Offensive Player of the Year & Also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors & Selected to play in the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine game (turned down Hula Bowl for Senior Year) & During two-year career, had streaks of 127 and 142 passes attempted without an interception & Started 18 games at Nevada, seven of which he was conference player of the week & Totaled 447-of-701 for 6,276 yards & Ranked sixth in nation in passing efficiency (156.7) and total offense (321.4 yds per game) as senior & Threw just six interceptions in 367 pass attempts, completing 61.3% of passes for 2,750 yards & As a junior, led Wolf Pack to first bowl victory, an 18-15 win over Ball State in 1996 Las Vegas Bowl & Named Big West Offensive Player of the Year with 2,750 yards passing with 22 TDs and six interceptions & Led conference in pass efficiency (153.8) & Threw 127 passes without an interception to start season & Transferred to Nevada from after spending two years at University of Texas. PERSONAL Full name is John Vincent Dutton & Born September 20, 1975, in Newport Beach, Calif. Married to Terina and has two sons, Zachary and Drew & Terina was a swimmer at Nevada and competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials in 2000. Was awarded the 2006 Denver Fan s Choice Hometown Heroes Award for his community involvement & Dutton and his wife spent parts of the 2006 off-season in Ethiopia working through the Dutton Foundation (www.duttonfoundation.org) with an orphanage to improve conditions for workers and children. The orphanage is located approximately one hour outside of Ethiopia's capital city of Addis Ababa, where the couple stayed for five days.
