Siskiyous Flex Their Muscles in Round Two with Redwoods!

In the Lady Eagles second encounter with COR they really put on a show to let the state know who they are.  In the first game there was a record breaking number of home runs and high batting averages.

Kim Connelly and Ashley Geer led the charge with two home runs a piece in the first game.  Connelly made a considerable dent in the score when she slapped a grand slam, followed by a two run homer later in the game.  Connelly was three for four with 6 RBI’s.  Geer also had a stat padding game with a two run home run and a solo home run.  Geer finished three for four as well.

Once these two fired up the bats everybody wanted a piece of the action.  Alex Jordahl made her home run debut with a two run home run against COR in the first of two games.  The Lady Eagles weren’t about to stop there either, Crislyn Chewning and Stephanie Zwetschke wanted to make their presence felt as well, adding a solo home run a piece.  Chewning went two for two and Zwetschke went two for four.

With the bats as hot as they were it took a lot of pressure off of the pitching. Becca Anderson got the win in the first game with 3 1/3 innings pitched.  Anderson is now 8-0 on the season.  Palacio came in to finish the game for Anderson.  The final score for Siskiyous, 13-5 after 5 innings.

In the second game of the day the Eagles weren’t as hot, but the momentum was definitely on their side.

Connelly was still firing on all cylinders in the second game and went two for five with another three run home run.  She added another 4 RBI’s to her 6 from the first game to have a total of 10 on the day.

Palacio stretched herself and pitched all seven innings in the second game for the 11-6 win.  Her record improved to 15-1 on the year with this victory.
