Back in his playing days, Eastman had some moves of his own receiving numerous awards including Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1986 with a 300+ batting average for the Cincinnati Reds Organization, and MVP and All-American for California State University, Sacramento in 1985. Eastman was awarded MVP at Siskiyous and was later inducted to the Siskiyous' Hall of Fame in 2005. This season Eastman has guided the Lady Eagles to a Golden Valley Conference Championship with an outstanding record of 43-2 including a 31 game winning streak, as well as receiving the GVC and Northern California Junior College “Coach of the Year”awards. Eastman coached an All-American, and 5 All-State players this season. Eastman has changed the way we look at the game of softball at Siskiyous. During his tenure, Eastman has led the Lady Eagles to two GVC championships including post-season play in the last four of five seasons, and to the State’s Elite 8 Tournament in 2003. Doug Eastman started his professional career with the College of the Siskiyous Baseball program in 1984 as an outfielder. He then went on to California State University, Sacramento where he was drafted to the Cincinnati Reds Organization, 1986-1990. Eastman is back at Siskiyous entering his seventh year as the Women’s Head Softball Coach.
