The 2012 season is underway and currently the Eagles men's team is ranked 6th in the State of California according to gocollegetrack.com. Leading the way for Siskiyous is Sophomore throwing standout Josh Peck, who recently broke a 26 year old school record in the discus with a 175' 0" (#1 in Nor Cal and #1 in the State). The throwers squad also currently has athletes highly ranked in both Nor Cal and the CCC State Rankings, inluding Nolan Sweet in the javelin (2nd in Nor Cal, 3rd in the State), Robert Atoe in the shot put (4th in Nor Cal and 7th in the State).
The Eagle running and jumping squad is also putting up impressive marks including Troy Pollard, who's early season best in the 400m is 48.54, which places him #1 in Nor Cal and #2 in the State. Jamaican recruit Chad Thomas has also been impressive in the long hurdles with an early season mark of 55.28, which places him currently 2nd in Nor Cal. The men's 4x4 relay team is poised to break the 3 year old relay record and are currently ranked 4th in Nor Cal and #7 in the state with a 3:20.59 (only .13 off the school record). Sophomore Ashley Langi looks to improve her jump marks this season, which she qualified for the state champoinships last year in the triple, and she recently broke her personal best in the 100 with a 13.44 run.

The Nor-Cal Track and Field Championships were held at Shasta College on Saturday and we had six athletes competing to advance to the state meet. Four of these athletes placed in the top six and will be advancing to the State Track and Field Championships this weekend at American River College. Ty Slater took 1st in the Javelin with a throw of 214’2, Nolan Sweet took 5th in the Javelin with a throw of 176’3, Josh Peck took 2nd in the Discus and Ashley Langi placed 5th in the women’s triple jump.

Congratulations to all or our student athletes and coaches and good luck in the State Track and Field Championships.

 

 

 

Records Broken at Maurice Compton Invitational

Siskiyous Track and Field competed at one of the best facilities in the California this past weekend at Merritt, College in Oakland California.  Temperatures and a fast track were ideal for fast times, and Siskiyous did not disappoint.  Zach Stoner broke a 25 year old school record in the 400m with a time of 48.43 more

Eagles break records at Stanford & Chabot

The Eagles sent split teams down to the bay area to compete in the highly regarded Stanford Invitational and the Chabot Relays in Palo Alto, California and Hayward, California respectively. The weather was absolutely perfect, and combined with great competition; the Eagles soared to new heights more


Siskiyous compete Strong at Aggie Open

The Eagles sent a limited squad to the UC Davis Aggie Open this past Saturday which featured Division I Universities UC Davis and Sacramento State as well as a large slate of D II and lower division Universities. The men’s roster included Tylan Lang, Myron Johnson, Donovan Cunningham, Zach Stoner and Stephen Dickinson more


Eagles win 8 Events at Artie Sullivan

This past Saturday, the Siskiyous Track and Field team headed an hour North on I-5 to Ashland, Oregon for the Artie Sullivan Invitational. There were 4 teams in the field, including the Oregon Institute of Technology, Southern Oregon University and SWOCC out of Coos Bay, Oregon. If team scores were calculated, the Eagles would have been in the top 2 on the men’s side. more

Eagles fare well at Chico Wildcat Relays

The College of the Siskiyous Track and Field team competed at Chico State University this weekend at the Wildcat Relays. Athlete of the meet for Siskiyous, and continuing his jumping domination was Myron Johnson. Myron won both the long and triple jump against University and Community College competition and was also the 3rd leg in the 4x100m relay, which ran a 42.82 and is currently ranked 5th in Northern California. more
