College of the Siskiyous - Volleyball

Eagles' net season ends with defeats
College of the Siskiyous dropped its final two volleyball games of the season last week, both at home, to Lassen and Shasta.
The Eagles lost 3-1 to Lassen last Wednesday, 29-31, 30-27, 19-30, 23-30.
They then dropped their finale to Shasta Friday night, 26-30,
23-30, 29-31.
Despite the team's struggles in Golden Valley Conference play this season, Siskiyous sophomore Tania Liufau finished the season as the leader in the state in kill percentage.
Freshman setter Chantal Yadao was one of the leaders in the state in assists.
"It wasn't until the final game that we had everyone healthy," said Powers, who plans to return for a second season as head volleyball coach next year. "It was frustrating, but some good things happened."
Powers also pointed to two extended breaks in the Eagles' schedule which interupted the team's rhythm.
Among the freshmen who played well this year were Yadao, Shannon Shaw of Mount Shasta, Katie Klinefelter of Weed and Courtney McClure of Westwood.
