January saw the opening of Golden Valley Conference play, the Eagles fly in high at 17-1. This new year brought with it a new challenge as point guard Amanda Harris would be held out of most of legue play by her broken hand.
After suffering a road loss in the GVC opener at Butte, we were able to come together for three straight wins. With this momentum going into the game against Lassen, the expectations were high and first place in the GVC was at stake.
The game held up to its billing as it turned into a high speed shoot-out and one of the greatest games seen in GVC history. The Eagles led throughout the entire game but Lassen was able to come out with a controversial 100-97 victory.
After beating Redwoods on the road 88-82, Siskiyous was able to come home and avenge their loss to Butte with a 93-68 victory for their home crowd.
With four games remaining on teh GVC slate, the Eagles are looking to keep their momentum rolling for their rematch with Lassen in Susanville and the start of the California State Playoffs.
