I started Coaching in 1970-71 as the grad assistant at Chico State. It was great! I got to run everyday with the team and have fun while staying in shape. The rest of the day was spent in the beginning ceramics class. I was trying to learn how to throw clay on the wheel. Quite honestly, I was HORRIBLE! The clay looked better when it was in the bag! Thirty-seven years later I'm back in the gym every day trying to stay in shape. I still have no game, no legs, and the girls whoop up on me daily, but my wheel throwing has come a long way. The rest of the day is back in the ceramic studio throwing post, vases, concentric bowls. Things have gone full circle and I'm still having fun.

This Just In
Doze, (Shannamar), has finally taken down her Christmas tree. "When the branches started breaking off witht he slightest touch, I finally believed it was dry enough for possible self-combustion and therefore posed a serious threat". We know it will be sadly missed, but on the bright side, now December is less than a year away!

Tom has been trying to decide his new favorite candy from off the mainland. Sampling many different candies from his international travels, he has taken a liking to the faboulous Licorice from New Zealand and Hi Chew from Hawaii. Players from the team introduced these to Tom and as a candy connoisseur he was instantly impressed!!! The Fabulous has much more flavor than the licorice we have ehre and the Hi Chew are like a fruitier, power-packed Starburst. "Try them the next time you go out of the country!!!", Tom says.

As the Eagles are                                              marching toward a                                              school record for the                                              best winning percentage                                              in a season, Coach                                              Powers has much more                                              on his mind. You might                                              think that he is scouting                                              potential playoff opponents, or beating the bushes for the next class of great recruits for the upcoming season, but no!
