Being from Etna, Jessica West is our most local player. In high school, she was an All Conference player in the Shasta Cascade League and finished her senior season 22-7 and conference champions. As a Ford Scholarship recipient, Jessica has maintained the highest GPA on our women's basketball team finishing her freshmen year with a 3.9. Jessica is one of our hardest working players and contributes daily everything she has to the basketball program. We were sad to see her turtle, Kona, not make the travel roster this season but the little dude had a good run of it. Jessica's determination and heart will be greatly missed next year when she heads to sunny Santa Barbara to show the So-Cal population at Westmont College that good things come from the north!
Jessica West ![]() Jennifer snuck away from community pressure to attend Feather River CC to come to COS. "Whips" was MVP in the Feather River League her senior year at Greenville High. That was the same year the 5'8" center helped her team go to the playoffs for the first time in school history. Jennifer was also top of her class, graduating with salutatorian honors . For the Eagles, Jen played the three position, facing a tough transition from being an inside player to an outside player, but her strong post mentality and aggressive rebounding helped her to be one of the first players off our bench. ![]() Ally "Gator" West Eagle Quiz Answer: Nacho! Change is in the WindEagle ProfilesAlly West headed north from Sacramento to play for coach Tom Powers with the plessing of X varsity coach Heather Brite. Hailing from Sacramento, Ally was an All League Central Valley Conference player and added her formidable 6' presence to the Eagle post line-up. As our first post off the bench Ally added a 47% field goal boost and 3rpg. Ally is staying in Weed for the summer, looking for any job not in the food industry and planning to school Tom Powers one-on-one in the gym all summer long. As she dials in her foot-work, look for Ally to be even more of a force on the Eagle squad next year! Next year, Butte College will have a new basketball coach. Kathy Brandt has retired after two seasons to spend more time with her three daughters. She posted a 38-19 two-year record with the Roadrunners. She may find that it was easier working with the team than it will be chasing her family around! Good Luck! ![]() ![]() Women's Eagles News
