Should You Use Commas, Yes or No?

Comma Rule #2
Place commas after introductory words, phrases, or clauses.
Ask yourself:
  1. Is the preposition the first word of the sentence? If so, often yes; put a comma after the whole prepositional phrase.

      At yesterday’s press conference,the coach denied the NCAA charges of recruiting violations.
         
  2. Is the prepositional phrase in the middle of the sentence? If so, generally no; leave the comma out.

    A rusty bicycle without wheels sits unwanted in the corner of the garage.
