of your choice. Read several of the sample essays from Chapter 14
before making your decision. You should read especially essay #2
(“Mementos,” p.177), essay #5 (“Profiles,” p. 184), essay #6 (“Outsiders,”
p. 186), or essay #13 (“Holidays,” p. 203). After you read the sample
essays, read the Guidelines for the essay topic that you have selected.
As you begin Step 1 and Step 2, be sure to refer to Steps 1 and 2 of the
