Fixing Dangling Participles

DIRECTIONS:
Each of these sentences contains dangling participle phrases.  Fix these errors by either (1) converting the participle phrase into an adverb clause, or (2) putting the appropriate noun after the comma and rewriting the main clause.  Write the corrections on a piece of paper.

  1. Running through the woods one snowy morning, it was unbelievably cold.
  2. Hearing her name called over the loud speaker, what a surprise to find out Frannie had won the raffle!
