In Chapter 1 (“Observations”) students list sentences that describe
a particular place, and in Chapter 2 (“Belongings”) students organize a
descriptive paragraph. The Chapter 3 assignment calls on you to combine
these approaches by composing a one-paragraph description of a place.
After discovering and focusing a topic through clustering, you will draft
a paragraph that describes a place and conveys your attitude toward it.
Then you will revise your paragraph to ensure that the descriptions are
precise and clearly connected. |
