You Want an “A”
If
you want an A.in
this class, you will meet the following criteria:

attend
classes (miss no more than one week's worth)

meet 100%
of deadlines
-
complete
100% of journal
-
complete
100% of grammar exercises
-
complete
and submit all drafts of all essay assignments
-
earn A's
and B's on the exams
-
write
essays at the A level (determined from portfolio grades only)
If you
want a B.in
this class, you will meet the following criteria:
-
attend
classes (miss no more than one week's worth)
-
meet at
least 80-90% of deadlines
-
complete
80-90% of journal
-
complete
80-90% of grammar exercises
-
complete
and submit all drafts of all essay assignments
-
earn B
average on the exams
-
write
essays at the A-C levels (determined from portfolio grades only)
If you
want a C.in
this class, you will meet the following criteria:
-
attend
classes (miss no more than two weeks' worth)
-
meet at
least 70-80% of deadlines
-
complete
70-80% of journal
-
complete
70-80% of grammar exercises
-
complete
and submit all drafts of all essay assignments
-
earn C
average on the exams
-
write
essays at the A-C levels (determined from portfolio grades only)
If you
want to repeat this class, you will meet the following criteria:

sometimes
attend classes (only when you feel like it)

meet fewer
than 70% of deadlines

complete
less than 70% of journal
-
complete
fewer than 70% of grammar exercises

complete
and submit some drafts of most assignments

earn "whatever"
on the exams

If you
want to learn, you will meet one of the above sets of criteria. Therefore,
if you want to learn, you cannot receive a D
