For this course you will need the following items:
- A computer and internet access.
- The ability to send and receive e-mail.
- Experience with using the internet with a web browser such as
Internet Explorer®, Firefox®
or Netscape Navigator®.
- Experience with internet search engines such as Google or Yahoo.
- A word processor such as Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Wordpad, or similar.
- Motivation to set aside time each work to allow you to work on this course.
Learning Goals
Student learning goals include:
- Apply central issues and strategies used in patrol activities.
- Organize and analyze data so that deployment of patrol, traffic and plainclothes patrol units can be scientifically deployed.
- Analyze cause and effect of efficient patrol techniques so that modern tactics are used in the community.
- Develop techniques for applying human relations to the tasks and procedures of patrol and traffic operations.
- Identify problems and initiate solutions associated with patrol.
