Each student is asked to produce
a storyboard for their web site project. This project is
worth 30 points (30% of your grade). The parameters
are:
Each student will pick a web site of their own and create a storyboard
following the guidelines presented in the course textbook and from
lecture notes.
The web site can be in
the planning
or ongoing stage - this will be the same web site your are using
for your Web Site Project. You are required
to turn in your assignment
by the end of class on Wednesday, March 5th (3/5/08). The assignment
will be graded and returned to you.
Three separate Word documents are provided to help you with this process.
The first document, Web Site Categories,
will be used to help you categorize the various parts of your site.
Categories are general areas that each of your web site pages will
be located under. You might have a category - Customer Service -
and a page "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ's) that would be in
this category. You could also have a category - Product - and several
pages in this category promoting your products. You could also have
sub-categories of products. If your business sells pottery, you could
have Kitchenware, Garden, and Art as sub-categories.
The second document, Page
Titles - Categories - Descriptions, will
be used to provide information on each page in your
site. You will give each page a title and list which category the
page is in. You will then give a brief description of your page.
The description will summarize the information provided on the
page.
The third document, Storyboard
Page Details, will be used to give more detailed information on
your separate pages. This document will include title, category, heading,
file name, purpose of page, text, sub headings, graphics, and links.
Some of the information you created in the first two documents can
be used to help you complete this document. As part of the Storyboard
Assignment you will turn in 4 competed Storyboard
Page Details documents.
One (1) will be for your home page and three (3) other
pages of your choice.
The Storyboard Assignment must contain the following components:
