EDUCATION: I was hired to teach Biology at College of the Siskiyous in 1994. I earned both my Bachelor of Science and my Master of Science at Kansas State University. I have participated in advanced studies at several universities: University of Maine, Governor's State University, National-Louis University, Northern Illinois University, and University of Illinois. I am currently teaching a variety of courses here at COS including Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, and several others.

HOBBIES: birdwatching, hiking, traveling, and reading.

FAVORITE BOOK: The Serpent and the Rainbow by Wade Davis.

FAVORITE FOOD: Everything except pickled beets.

I REGRET: That I did not keep a list of all of the books I have read since childhood.

I APPRECIATE: People with a sense of humor and people who bring me dead animals (so my students can do taxidermy projects).

I DISLIKE: People who are rude.

  • Decide what you want to do, and then try your best to do it!
  • Deciding what you want to do as a career should be given much thought. After all, it may be what you will do for 40-some years!
  • Don't give up on a goal until you have given it your best shot!
