Welcome to the class introduction page for Web Publishing
II, CSCI 28B. This page refers to the class being held in
the Spring 2008 semester in Greenshields Hall 3/4. Please read
the following information and contact the

if you have any questions. You can expect an email response within
48 hours during the
semester. Make sure you use a descriptive subject line for your
email so it doesn't get accidentally deleted as spam.
Class begins on Thursday, January 17th, 2008 and
ends on Thursday, May 22nd, 2008. The class will meet from
6:00 to 9:00 pm. See the Calendar page

Course Objectives ~ Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course you
should be able to:
Construct web pages utilizing JavaScript
Construct and maintain web pages using Cascading Style Sheets
Understand the difference between different implementations
of HTML
Understand and utilize Java technology
Evaluate web pages on the application of web technologies
Course Information
Course prerequisites & recommendations: There
is no required prerequisite, but you should have some computer
experience
in order to succeed in this class.
Course requirements and grading: This will
be discussed in more detail in the Syllabus.

In general, there are exercises to be completed each week, a
multi-page
web project due at the end of the semester, and a final
exam to be taken the last week of the semester.
Time Expectations: Expect
to spend approximately eight hours per week over the entire semester.
This will inculde 3 hours in the classroom and approximately
5 hours outside the classroom. You will be required to participate
each week, you will not be able
to
complete
the
entire
course
in the last few weeks. This is not an independent-study class.
Lecture notes
and assignments will be posted each week. You will have
to submit your work each week if you
want to
pass the course. Plan to be online at least twice per week
to get up to date information about the lectures, assignments,
and Calendar schedule.
