Scholarship Websites:

FastWeb

This Web site maintains a data bank of over half a million scholarships and utilizes a search engine that matches your registration responses to scholarships that best fit your profile. Another feature is the automatic e-mails you can recieve regarding scholarship deadlines.

CASHE
www.salliemae.com/planning/scholarships.html

This site is similar to FastWeb in that you spend about 20 minutes filling out a profile questionaire in order to enter a scholarship database. CASHE also provides informative reading material, such as criteria for snooping out scholarship scams.

ExPAN
www.collegeboard.com

This site is mostly for high school students, but also maintains a 'paying for college' section. It provides information about over 3,000 colleges, and offers a side-by-side comparison of the colleges of your choice.

Individual Scholarships:

New Mexico Highlands University has instituted a new transfer program for Engineering students: California residents are eligible for the WUE (Western Undergraduate Exchange) at NMHU. This program provides $4,779 in tuition assistance each year, leaving a remainder of $2,800/year tuition. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained.

In addition, all under-represented minority applicants will be considered for full tuition scolarships, other combinations of scolarships, and research apprenticeships.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York offers the following scolarships for California Community College Transfer Students:
Joseph H. Smith Award: Presented to the outstanding student in the Engineering Science Program. $5000./year, renewable for the second year.
Garnet D. Baltimore Award: Presented to an outstanding student majoring on Science Busness Management or Engineering. $5000./year, renewable for the second year.
Phi Theta Kappa Society Scholarship for Transfer Students: $3000 scolarship presented to members of the Phi Theta Kappa Society. This scolarship is available to all accepted PTK society transfer students, and requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and a letter of recommendation from the PTK Society Chapter Advisor.
