  • Explore a well-researched site on "Military Aircraft Nose Art: An American Tradition"
  • Although the general subject area "Bodylore" is often discussed as it relates to proverbs and metaphors, tattooing traditions and body piercing could also be considered part of the subject area. You can visit a tattoo site and  view a few pictures. If you are interested in the history of tattoos, visit The Tattoo History Source Book--an anthology of historical records on tattooing (they also offer links to other tattoo areas on the Internet). Among the Canela of Brazil, body adornment "enhances appearance, signals changes in social identity, and expresses culturally prescribed values," and you can visit a National Anthropological Archive site that presents background and pictures of Canela body adornment.
