HOW THE WEST WAS WON
by Karen O.
Well, I've heard all about them cowboys
and how they rode the range,
But one thing's got me wonderin'
that I think is mighty strange,
You hardly ever hear 'bout cowgirls,
I know they were around.
It seems like history's forgot them,
without a trace, without a sound.
Now I say it's time to change all that
and right the wrong that's done,
let's tell the story as it really was
and not leave out the fun.
There's Belle Starr and Annie Oakley,
just to name a famous few,
but the women who made the West
did more than we all knew.
Sure, they rode them horses all day long
and rounded up them cows,
but when the twinkling stars came out
that's when they took their bows.
They kept them cowboys happy
and when their work was done,
they played them night-time fun games,
that's how the West was won!
