Use the table of contents at left to navigate through the assignment pages.  Follow the general guidelines below for all assignments:

• The journal may be handwritten or typed (on computer). 
• All essay submissions, including the critical responses, must be typed according to MLA guidelines for page layout.  Review the sample on p. 733 of the Holt Handbook (6th ed.).  For your convenience, you may use the template for MLA Style.
• Both the Written Argument and the rationale for the Special Project must have a title page following MLA guidelines for page layout.  Review the sample on p. 337 of the Holt Handbook.
• Be prepared to show proof of research—photocopies of relevant pages from your sources.
