ENGINEERING 2035

Mechanics for Engineers-Statics

Offered in the Fall

Course Description:

This course includes the determination of external and internal forces and moments on engineering structures and machines etc. Vector and scalar methods are used to solve force and moment problems.

The 'user friendly' definition:

The analysis of "static" objects (example: bridges and cranes) under the action of forces. A great class where students get to apply and hone their problem solving skills on realistic engineering applications.

Course Handouts:

Whether you are currently enrolled in Engineering 2035 or would like to "look the class over" for the future, the links below give you access to key course handouts.

Syllabus: includes the instructor hours and availability and course poilicies.

Class Schedule: includes lecture topics, reading and homework assignments.

PHYS 2105 (mechanical oscillations and waves) is a prerequisite for ENGR 2035, and MATH 2400 is normally taken concurrently. This class is applicable for Engineering Transfer Students, and the instructor is Mike Read.
