Environmental Geology
Environmental Geology explores humanity's interactions with the Earth.
The first part of this course examines how humans assess and cope with geologic hazards
such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and floods. The second part looks at
how geologic resources such as soils, ores, and fossil fuels are formed and
how our current patterns of use are likely to affect their future availability. The last
part considers how we deal with the pollution and waste that result from human activities.
