Geology of the Medicine
Lake Volcano
An introduction to the geology of the Medicine Lake Volcano presented during
two evening programs and a one-day field trip. The evening sessions will review
the mountain's geologic setting, its eruptive history, the character of its
eruptive products, and its potential hazards. The field trip will afford students
an opportunity to explore a wide variety of volcanic features from spatter
cones to obsidian domes on one of the largest volcanoes in the Cascades.
