An introduction to the geology of Mount Mazama and the Crater Lake caldera presented during two evening programs and a one-day field trip. The evening sessions will introduce the mountain's geologic setting, its eruptive history, the characters of its eruptive products, and its potential hazards. The field trip will afford students opportunities to study a variety of volcanic and glacial features around the caldera rim, and to explore one of the most spectacular lakes in the world.

This course requires an activity fee for those who wish to take the boat tour around the lake.
