Paul Dawson Memorial Scholarship
 
Paul Dawson taught geology and engineering at the College of the Siskiyous from 1962 to 1986, and inspired generations of students with his enthusiasm, knowledge of local geology, and great stories. Following his death in 1996, Paul's family and friends established a scholarship fund to assist outstanding COS geology students continue their educations at four-year colleges and universities. In order to be eligible to receive the $500 award a student must have:
  • completed two years of transfer courses at COS;
  • been accepted to a four-year school as a full-time student majoring in the earth sciences;
  • provided college transcripts and some background information to the scholarship committee.

Scholarship applications are available from the Financial Aid Office and must be completed and submitted by May 1 in order to receive consideration.
