Diversity Lecture

This week I would like you to look at diversity and the issues that

face college students related to that topic. I don’t believe that in

the format that this class is using (on-line) we can effectively deal

with the issue, but we can begin to make headway. So…. Go to

the web site below.

(Assignment 11) After you have a handle on the term "cultural diversity", read the articles on both of the web sites below. Both articles discuss the issue of "colorblindness". Now the term may not be use in the context you think, so make sure you understand what it is both authors are speaking about when they use the term. Below are the requirements for the reaction paper I would like you to submit.

Newsweek: Is Your Child a Racist?

The paper should be no less than a page long. It should begin with a statement that clearly covers what you are going to cover in your response. (2 points) This could be that you agree, disagree, whatever. Then you should support what you have stated in your first sentence. (5 points) You must have quotes taken directly from either or both articles.(2 points)I do not want a long personal story used to support your statement, but a brief reference to personal experiences is ok. Make sure you edit the paper to correct grammar and spelling errors. (1 point)
