Bio: I was born and raised in San Mateo, California. I went to college at Sacramento State University where I graduated in 1980. I received a teaching credential in English the following year and taught high school English for ten years at Christian Brothers, Roseville, and Newark Memorial High School in Fremont. During that period, I went back to school and received a Master's Degree in both Physical Education from Cascade College in New Orleans and in Psychology from National University in Sacramento. My thesis dealt with how we as American view the elderly as we grow older. In 2001, I went back to school again to Emporia State University in Kansas and received another Master's degree in Health Education.
