ASSIGNMENT NUMBER 3

After reading chapter 4, please answer the following discussion questions. Send answers to me at fontius@siskiyous.edu as text only with line breaks (*.txt).

1.         Develop and ideal exercise program for yourself which fits your schedule and current fitness level.  Justify your program in terms of what you have learned in Chapter 4. Be sure to include the five components that make up a balanced fitness program. (5 points)

2.         Name several structural and functional benefits of aerobic exercise.  (5 points)

3.         Compute your target heart rate.  Discuss how target heart rate works in a fitness program. Be sure to include the specific formulas that is used to calculate one's aerobic Target Heart Rate. (5 points)

4.         Discuss and explain the differences between muscular strength exercises, isometric resistance exercises and isokinetic exercises. Include specific definitions for each of these three forms of strength training(5 points)
