10 ONLINE FINAL
The following three essays will make up your final exam. Each essay will be worth 25 points for a
total of 75 points. You can respond to
the essay questions as a reply to this email or you can “copy” and “paste” your
essay to the email. I would think that
each essay would not need to be more
than one page in length but they could be more than one page if needed. Please keep your essays concise and well
organized.
Essays: You must answer the following three essay
questions. Be as detailed in your
response as possible and provide specific examples to support your
statements. In answering the questions
it is a good idea to provide some reference to materials covered in the text
(even though they might not coincide with your ideas or beliefs) so that I know
that you have read and understand the concept covered in the appropriate
chapters.
Essay #1 Although no one can be completely safe from
personal injury or possible random violence, there are ways to minimize the
risks to your safety. Based on
information provided in chapter 16 and your own personal assessment, what do
you feel you can do to enhance your personal safety?
Essay #2 Infectious diseases and exposure to harmful
environmental produscts are serious affronts to our own personal health. Discuss
several ways that one might be able to reduce the risk of environmental exposures
and infectious diseases. Be sure to include information on both the mechanical
and cellular defenses within our bodies.
Essay #3 Since the start of this class we have studied
a variety of issues that affect our own health. Using all six dimensions of health found on
page 9 and 10 in the text I want you to rate your current health status based
on a scale from +10 to -10 . Once
you have picked a number (for example +4 or -1 or what ever number you decide
on) I want you to explain why you feel you belong
at that number.
5 Point Bonus Essay: Now that you have completed Health in Action
online, you have been asked to become
the new online Health in Action instructor.
What changes would you make to the current requirements, what things
would you keep the same and what might you add to the course?
