Course Description:

Survey of American history, development of the United States and its political, economic, social, and cultural institutions from colonial times through the era of reconstruction.  Support Hour.

You will need to purchase the following textbooks:

Norton, et al., A People and A Nation, Volume 1 (8th edition) ISBN-10: 0618947167  ISBN-13: 9780618947164

Hoffman, et al. Major Problems in American History: Volume 1 (2nd edition) ISBN-10: 0618678328  ISBN-13: 9780618678327

The Democratization of American Christiantiy by Hatch (Any edition)

You may be able to access these books elsewhere, such as a local library. Please check your library for availability. In any event, you are responsible for obtaining these materials.

You may register for this course using the College of the Siskiyous Student Navigator at http://www.siskiyous.edu/navigator/

How To Access The Course:

Registered students: The course will be available beginning on June 14, 2010. To access the course follow these instructions exactly:

Go to: https://myetudes.org and login using your user id and password.

Your user id is:

  • The first two letters of your first name +
  • The first two letters of your last name +
  • The last 5 digits of your new Student Id Number

Please be sure to use lower case. EXAMPLE: John Smith's user ID would be josm45678 (if his new Student ID Number was S12345678)

Your password is:

  • Month and Day of birth in school records
  • Example: Birthday is April 11, 1982 (04/11/82)
  • Password = 0411

Course Provisos:

1. You are required to login on the first day of class. Failure to log into the course by June 14, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. may result in your dismissal from the course.

2. This course is just as difficult and time intensive as any other college level course. This course is largely self-paced and will provide you with a great deal of flexibility. However, there are some deadlines which must be met. You will be aware of all deadlines on the first day of class.
