I will give you grade updates frequently in class.

Tests:
There will be five chapter tests given in class. Each test will have a percentage score. At the end of the semester your lowest score will be dropped and the remaining four will be averaged together to give the test average. Tests cannot be made up. If you notify me ahead of time that you will be unable to take a test, I will compute your grade using your final exam score for that test.

Activities:
Nearly every day we will have some kind of an activity in class. Your active and informed participation will count towards your grade. The lowest one-tenth of these will be dropped at the end of the semester. There is no way to make these up.

Homework:
All homework is on the CourseCompass website. Each assignment has a due date. To receive credit, you must begin each assignment before its due date. After you start, you can continue to work on the assignment until well after the due date and improve your score on it.

Final Exam:
The final exam will be two hours long (twice as long as any individual chapter test). It will be comprehensive (including material from each chapter). The final exams are scheduled as follows:

2 pm class: Wednesday, Dec 16 from 3 – 4:50 PM,
10 am class: Wednesday, Dec 16 from 10 – 11;50 AM.

in our regular classroom.

The final exam score cannot be dropped. It is COS policy for students to take the final exam on the scheduled date.
