Textbook and Materials

REQUIRED:

• CourseCompass Access Code. This is available at the cashier's counter in the bookstore. If you have a credit card you can purchase the access code here.

OPTIONAL:

• Beginning Algebra, Fifth edition, by Elayn Martin-Gay. ISBN is 0-13-600702-3
• Calculator. If you do not have a calculator and want one for Math 54A, I suggest the kind of scientific calculator that costs about $10 at Walmart, Office Depot, or Rite Aid. Something like this, perhaps. However, if your pre-algebra skills are good you can do without a calculator. On all tests for which calculators are allowed, I will provide simpler calculators for you to use.
