You will be able to check your WileyPlus gradebook on the WileyPlus website for grade estimates on demand without asking me. However, I have not found a way to drop the lowest 5 scores in a category so if you want the best possible grade forecast, please ask me and allow a day of turnaround time for it.
Tests:
There will be four chapter tests given in class. Each test will have a percentage score. At the end of the semester your lowest score will be dropped and the remaining four will be averaged together to give the test average. Tests cannot be made up UNLESS arrangements are made before the test.
Activities:
Some days there will be a group learning activity that you will hand in. Some of these will simply get 100% for all of the active participants. Others may be given a percentage score based on the accuracy of part or all of the work. At the end of the semester the lowest five of your activity scores will be dropped; the rest will be averaged together to give the Activity average. These cannot be made up.
Presentations:
You will be making occasional presentations of the textbook material in small teams in class. These will be a small part of your grade. More details will be available later.
Projects:
As part of a team you will hand in one project. More details will be available later.
Homework:
All homework is on the WileyPlus website. Each one has a due date. On some days I may hand out sheets of practice problems; these are not to hand in and are not for credit.
Final Exam:
The final exam will be two hours long (twice as long as any individual chapter test). It will be comprehensive (including material from each chapter). The date and time are
Wednesday, December 17 from 1 - 2:50 PM in our regular classroom.
The final exam cannot be made up.
