This course focuses on advanced concepts in maternal child nursing care. Content emphasized includes family communications, teaching, nursing process, critical thinking, legal-ethical issues, safety, and patient advocacy. Emphasis will be on nursing interventions to prevent or decrease risk factors associated with the child bearing and child rearing families. Simulation activities support clinical and theoretical content. (AA, CSU) Prerequisite: NURS 1021, NURS 1031, and NURS 1032 Corequisite: NURS 1542
