College of the Siskiyous has an exchange program with Southern Oregon University and OIT that can save you money!What is the Oregon Exchange Program? Oregon students have the opportunity to attend College of the Siskiyous at reduced fees, and California students can attend either Oregon Institute of Technology or Southern Oregon University at the in-state tuition rate.
Who can participate? Oregon students who qualify for the Southern Oregon University (SOU) or Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) programs pay only $42 per semester unit instead of the out of state tuition enrollment fee. What is the Process? The process for obtaining this exchange program tuition reduction is as follows: Step 1: Contact either SOU or OIT to obtain an "Exchange Agreement" packet for College of the Siskiyous. Step 2: Complete the paperwork and forward it to SOU or OIT prior to registering at College of the Siskiyous. Late applications may not be processed after the start of classes at COS. If your paperwork hasn't been signed, then you will be asked to pay the full amount. Transcripts from your high school or any other college you have attended before COS will be required for the exchange application. Step 3: Upon approval of the permit, College of the Siskiyous and the student will be notified from the applicable institution by letter.
Any time a student at COS under the auspices of this permit will not qualify towards establishing residency in California. It is presumed that students seeking permits intend to retain their Oregon residency.
