SOAR Information              

What is SOAR?

SOAR stands for “Siskiyou Orientation, Advising, & Registration”. SOAR was designed to teach the students about college by preparing them for the first day and semester. This is done through a campus tour, orientation activities, creation of an education plan, advising, and registration.

Do I Need to Participate in SOAR?

If you are a student who is pursuing any COS certificate, AA degree, or transfer requirements, and are new to COS, you will want to participate in SOAR .

What Do We Do During a SOAR Session?


SOAR Day

During the 4-hour SOAR Day, students will:

a) Learn about the NAVIGATOR webpage- and it's resources.

b) Learn about Campus Resources & Services while on a Weed Campus Tour.

c) Meet other students, current & prospective.

d) Navigate the COS website and resources and how to find information

e) Complete Assessments, if needed

f) Discuss Educational Goals (AA, Certificate, Transfer)

g) Begin the creation of their education plan

h) Schedule classes and register during open registration periods.
