The Welding
Program offers instruction in basic and advanced welding.
All types of welding machines are covered in the instruction
such as electric arc, oxyacetylene, gas tungsten arc welding,
dual shield, and wire feed. The program is designed to teach
students welding of ferrous and non ferrous metals. Instruction
is given in various welding techniques, including flat, vertical
overhead, horizontal, and pipe. Related technical phases of
welding are also covered. Students may attain the craftsman
level, learn layout and welding symbols, and become qualified
to take a state certified welding test. Both day and evening
classes are available.

positional welds, tungsten welds and wire welding processes
upon completion of the 4th semester of welding leading to
the Associate in Science degree. All welding opportunities
are listed in the certificate section.
For an
Associate Degree Major, students must also complete general
education requirements. Please refer to the Associate Degree
general education requirements in the Schedule of Classes
for a list of acceptable courses. Make an appointment with
a COS counselor for assistance in completing the general education
requirements.
