COS Campuses Closed for Washington Day Holiday: The Weed and Yreka Campuses will be closed Monday, February 20 in observance of the Washington Day Holiday.
COS Speakers Series Presents "What is Time" – Thursday, February 23 beginning at 7:00 pm in the Weed Campus Science Building, room 110. We all experience time. We want it to go faster, or slower. We want more of it, or less. But what is it? Neither philosophers nor scientists can offer any generally accepted answer to that question. Nevertheless, the extraordinary theories of quantum mechanics and Einstein’s relativity have much to say on the subject. Join us as physicist and adjunct COS instructor David Carico leads us on an exploration of this fascinating topic…if you have the time!
Performing Arts Club to Present "Rhinoceros" – Friday and Saturday, February 24, 25, March 3, and 4 at 7:00 pm and Sundays, February 26 and March 6 at 3:00 pm in the Weed Campus Theater (limited seating). Advance tickets on sale at Weed Campus Bookstore, Yreka Campus Business Office, or in Mt. Shasta at Snow Creek Studios.
Auditions for COS Theater Department Spring Play "The Water Engine and Sorry, Wrong Number" Scheduled - Auditions for the Spring Play, "The Water Engine and Sorry, Wrong Number," will be held Monday, February 27 and Tuesday, February 28. On Monday, February 27, starting at 3:30 pm, students interested in auditioning for the performance will present a two minute dramatic monologue. A sign‐up sheet for audition times is currently located on the 'Theatre Call Board' in the Performing Arts building hallway at the Weed Campus. On Tuesday, February 28, also at 3:30 pm, those auditioning will read "sides" and should be prepared for movement exercises by wearing something you can move in. Auditioners must attend both days.
Spring Break – The 2017 Spring Break is scheduled for March 27 – 31. During the break, COS offices will remain open.
Stay Connected with COS - Sign up for our Alert Communication System: COS uses an alerting system called Everbridge to stay connected with our students. This is a free system we use to notify students and staff of emergency situations, campus closures, or general student information. In order to receive alerts or other updates from COS you need to create an account by clicking on the 'sign up' link on the bottom of our COS Everbridge Portal. Within your Everbridge account you can specify which alerts, if any, to subscribe to in the Alert Subscription section.
Important Reminder for Students: To avoid being dropped from your classes, we encourage you to pay fees in full when enrolling or make payment arrangements by creating a contract with the COS Business Office. Financial Aid can be considered when creating a contract to pay IF all required documents have been submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Stop by (or call (530) 938-5310(530) 938-5310) the COS Business Office with any questions.
Applications Available for SSS Program: The SSS Program application is available in hardcopy form from the Weed Campus SSS Office as well as online.The Program offers a dedicated staff who are available to help with counseling, advising, progress follow-up, financial aid application assistance and numerous other services.
Census Reports Available Online: Students can check their progress by logging into their Navigator account. Select your Student Tab and then the semester you want to view under your Student Grades channel to view academic progress.
