Auditions Scheduled for COS Theater Department Fall Production "The Wizard of Oz" - COS is seeking Actors, Singers, and Dancers for the fall 2016 production.  Auditions will be held at the Weed Campus Theater as follows: Adults - August 25, 3 to 6 pm / Children - August 29, 3 to 6 pm.  Singing roles must prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song.  Non-singing roles must prepare a short monologue.  All should be prepared to learn some basic movement/dance.  Audition scene selections are available at COS from the Theater Department. Athletic Season Passes Now On Sale: 2016/2017 full Athletic (Football and Basketball), Football, and Basketball season passes are on sale.  First home football game is September 3 at 1 p.m. Tailgate Party (bring your own food and drink we will provide tables and chairs) from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. next to the Tennis Courts.


Important Reminder for Students:
To avoid being dropped from your classes, we encourage you to pay fees in full when enrolling or make payment arrangements by creating a contract with the COS Business Office.  Financial Aid can be considered when creating a contract to pay IF all required documents have been submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Stop by (or call (530) 938-5310(530) 938-5310) the COS Business Office with any questions.


Fall, and Spring Semester Registration: Open registration for the 2016 Fall Semester (including late-starting classes), as well as the 2017 spring semester is open. Register now to get the classes you want and need.

Registration for COS Holiday Craft Fair - Opens September 1. The Craft Fair will be held Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, 2016 in the COS Weed Campus Gymnasium.

Campuses Closed for Labor Day Holiday: The Weed and Yreka Campuses will be closed Monday, September 5, 2016.

COS Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting: The next COS Board of Trustees meeting will be held September 13, 2016 at the COS Weed Campus in the Board Room.  Closed session at 5 p.m. and open public session at 6 p.m.

COS Foundation Scholarship Dinner - Save the Date... the annual COS Foundation Scholarship Fundraising Dinner will be held Saturday, October 15 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Weed Son's of Italy Memorial Hall.

Stay Connected with COS - Sign up for our Alert Communication System: COS uses an alerting system called Everbridge to stay connected with our students. This is a free system we use to notify students and staff of emergency situations, campus closures, or general student information. In order to receive alerts or other updates from COS you need to create an account by clicking on the ‘sign up’ link on the bottom of our COS Everbridge Portal. Within your Everbridge account you can specify which alerts, if any, to subscribe to in the Alert Subscription section.

Applications Available for SSS Program: The SSS Program application is available in hardcopy form from the Weed Campus SSS Office as well as online.  The Program offers a dedicated staff who are available to help with counseling, advising, progress follow-up, financial aid application assistance and numerous other services.

Free Success Seminars at COS - Every student heads into college with the intention of achieving his or her goals. To help you gain the skills necessary to achieve your goals, the Academic Success Center has developed a series of 50 minute seminars which will help you build skills and confidence in a variety of areas.  Success Seminars are offered during the fall and spring semesters.

Census Reports Now Available Online: Students can check their progress by logging into their Navigator account.  Select
your Student Tab and then the semester you want to view under your Student Grades channel to view academic progress.

NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) Offering Expanded Course Offerings at COS in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017: The College will offer classes during the fall of 2016 and spring of 2017 through the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). See the NOLS WMI WEMT course schedule for more information.
