Important Reminder for Students: To avoid being dropped from your classes, we encourage you to pay fees in full when enrolling or make payment arrangements by creating a contract with the COS Business Office.  Financial Aid can be considered when creating a contract to pay IF all required documents have been submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Stop by (or call 938-5310) the COS Business Office with any questions.

COS Board of Trustees Monthly Meeting: The next COS Board of Trustees meeting will be held December 8 at the COS Weed Campus in the Board Room.  Closed session at 5PM and open public session at 6PM.

2016 Spring Semester Registration Now Open: The 2016 spring schedule is available online for viewing only. Contact Counseling and Support Services to schedule appointment with a Counselor or Advisor. Call (530) 938-5373.

Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Regional Transfer Fair: Community college students are invited to attend a transfer fair at Sacramento City College on Monday, November 16 from 10AM to 1PM to find out how easy it is to transfer to an HBCU and learn about "guaranteed on-site admissions" with only 30 or more transferrable units for the spring or fall 2016 semesters.

Auditions Set for Winter Production of You Can't Take It With You: Auditions for the College of the Siskiyous Theatre Department’s production of You Can’t Take it With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, are set for the week of November 16 thru 20.  “You” will be directed by Vrenda Lee, with long-time COS Theater Director, Neil Carpentier-Alting as Technical Director. Open-call auditions will be held November 16 from 6 to 8:50 p.m. in Weed at the Kenneth W. Ford Theater and on November 17 at the COS Yreka Campus Training Center, also beginning at 6 p.m.  Those who would like to audition may attend either day and are asked to arrive promptly to receive detailed audition/production information.  Actors should bring an acting headshot and resume, if possible.  First “callbacks” will be Wednesday, November 18 at the COS Yreka Campus Training Center Building, between 6 and 8:50 p.m. (specific times will be assigned during the open-call auditions).  Final callbacks for those cast in the production will be Friday, November 20, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Yreka Community Theatre.

COS Speakers Series November Presentation: The next COS Speakers Series presentation, "The Power of Music" is scheduled for Thursday, November 19 at 7:30PM in the Weed Campus Science Building Room 210. Ron Slabbinck, COS Music Instructor is the presenter.

COS Closes for Thanksgiving Holiday: No evening classes will be held Wednesday, November 25. Both the Weed and Yreka Campuses will be closed Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27.

Stay Connected with COS - Sign up for our Alert Communication System: COS uses an alerting system called Everbridge to stay connected with our students. This is a free system we use to notify students and staff of emergency situations, campus closures, or general student information. In order to receive alerts or other updates from COS you need to create an account by clicking on the ‘sign up’ link on the bottom of our COS Everbridge Portal. Within your Everbridge account you can specify which alerts, if any, to subscribe to in the Alert Subscription section.

Applications Available for SSS Program: The SSS Program application is available in hardcopy form from the Weed Campus SSS Office as well as online.  The Program offers a dedicated staff who are available to help with counseling, advising, progress follow-up, financial aid application assistance and numerous other services.

Free Success Seminars at COS - Every student heads into college with the intention of achieving his or her goals. To help you gain the skills necessary to achieve your goals, the Academic Success Center has developed a series of 50 minute seminars which will help you build skills and confidence in a variety of areas.  Success Seminars are offered during the fall and spring semesters.

Census Reports Now Available Online: Students can check their progress by logging into their Navigator account.  Select
your Student Tab and then the semester you want to view under your Student Grades channel to view academic progress.

NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) Offering Expanded Course Offerings at COS in Fall 2015 and Spring 2016: The College will offer classes during the Fall of 2015 and Spring of 2016 through the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). See the NOLS WMI WEMT course schedule for more information.
