Zodiac animals are popular in folk art. The year 2003 is the Year of the Sheep, and so we could obtain sheep ema boards at several shrines.

Prior to the 1900s, time was measured in units equal to approximately two hours. The Hour of the Sheep was between about 1-3 p.m.
