How do I log in to Canvas?
Click on the Canvas button on our home page and log in using your mySiskiyous user name and password. If you are in the mySiskiyous portal click on the Canvas icon in the upper right corner. If you need assistance, contact the Student Help Desk at (530) 938-5523 or firstname.lastname@example.org. There are also help pages for students and for faculty with additional resource links.
What training is available for instructors?
COS utilizes the Canvas LMS for all courses. Instructors may also select to use Canvas as additional support for their face-to-face courses.
Where can I get help?
If you are a student, contact the Student Help Desk at (530) 938-5523 or email@example.com for assistance logging in. The Online Student Help page also contains links to Canvas Help resources.
If you are instructor, email firstname.lastname@example.org for technical support or contact Maria Fernandez (email@example.com) with faculty-related questions. The Online Faculty Help page contains links to Canvas help resources.
COS currently requires all instructors who utilize the Canvas LMS to be Canvas Certified by the following dates:
June 30 for Fall semester
Nov 15 for Winter Intercession/Spring semester
April 15 for Summer semester
Instructors can provide evidence of Canvas certification from another entity or institution to firstname.lastname@example.org, or they can be added to the COS Introduction to Teaching with Canvas self-paced certification course.

COS strongly recommends online instructors take an online pedagogy course from @One- Introduction to Online Teaching and Learning (IOTL). If you have already taken an online pedagogy course, please provide evidence of your training to firstname.lastname@example.org .
Instructors who have completed @One’s Online Teaching Certificate should send their Online Teaching Certificate to email@example.com.
